Our Eco friendly 250 Litre oak barrel compost bin has been upcycled using an ex distillery whiskey cask.
Complete with aeration holes drilled through the cask to improve ventilation, lift off lid and rope handle for easy access, with a rustic finish.
Having multiple compost bins allows for a continuous composting supply. As you can fill another while one is actively decomposing. It's free to make and you will also recycle waste. Making your own organic product and producing it is more gentle on the planet.

Tips:
Start with a layer of sticks, twigs or branches.
Twigs, sticks and branches help airflow and create air pockets in the compost, which helps speed up the composting process.
Add brown and green materials in layers.
Brown materials are those high in carbon, such as straw and leaves. Green materials are those high in nitrogen, such as grass and vegetable peelings.
Add bulking materials to trap air in the pile.
Bulking materials help trap air in the compost pile and can help absorb excess moisture too. You can use sawdust or materials like wood chips.
